A minimal and robust seamless bag, worked in linen stitch

Skill level
Experienced Beginner: pattern includes working in the round, picking up stitches and a slip stitch repeat

Materials
Approximately 300 yards / 280m of dk or light worsted yarn. I used Flax & Twine’s ‘Daytime Linen’ in Stone. A rough and rustic yarn, preferably in a plant fiber will work best in terms of being hard-wearing as a bag.

Gauge
20sts & 26 rows = 4”/10cm in linen stitch after blocking, using size US 6 / 4mm needles

Needles
Size US 6 / 4mm 24”circular needle

Additional Tools
1 stitch marker (scrap yarn in a contrast color, tied in a loop is always my go-to!), tapestry needle for sewing in ends.

CONSTRUCTION OVERVIEW
• The bag is made from the base up: knitted back and forth for the base, then stitches are picked up from the parameter to be knit in the round up to the handles, which are made in 2 back and forth sections then finished in the round.
• The bag is wet blocked after completion.

Sizing (measurements taken flat after blocking)
