The Family That Knits Together, Sticks Together
Pattern Description
Angela had eight-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, and they just learned to knit. The three of them came into the store to find a group project. Angela wanted a kid-sized sweater pattern that she could knit with the twins’ help. We do not normally advise that knitters share a project because gauges can be different, but we figured the point was really to share this experience. After looking around the shop and through our books, they fell in love with the Not Your Standard-Issue Sweatshirt from The Yarn Girls’ Guide to Simple Knits. We decided to make it more sweatshirty and add a pocket. We realized this is a perfect family project, because the kids can make the hoods, which are just rectangles, and Mom can knit the rest of the sweater.
