NEEDLES
— 6 mm circular needle with a cable length of at least 80 cm / 32” for the body and a shorter cable length for the sleeves or DPNs.
— 5.5 mm circular needle with a cable length of at least 80 cm / 32” and a shorter cable length for smaller circumferences or DPNs for cuffs and neckband
I do not recommend using the magic loop technique for beginners with this yarn, since it tends to pull the thread excessively and pre-yarn is very fragile to knit. I love using my shorter cable sleeve needles for working with unspun yarn and DPNs are also wonderful.
GAUGE
15 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” ( in stockinette stitch on gauge-sized needles, after blocking) -with either combination of yarn.
Is substituting make sure to achieve gauge.
The gauge for this sweater is intentionedly generous. We are looking for a drapey, lightweight fabric- leaving space for stitches to bloom at ease.
