The Duluth Suite
It rained here in Duluth one Summer. It rained a lot. It kept raining. Did I mention we got a lot of rain? 7.2 inches in 2 days, and the ground was already saturated. We are on a hill (think Seattle) and the rain rushed down in torrents and took out roads. It was hard on the people, the region, and city. We were very fortunate and there was no loss of life.
In memory of this event, I created The Duluth Suite. The hats are: Rain, More Rain, Even More Rain, and Enough Already. They feature a small rolled brim, 2-color corrugated ribbing, stranded color-work on three versions, and centered double decreases. I hope you enjoy the hats a whole lot more than we enjoyed the rain. The Fourth version, Enough Already, has no rain. A calmer, dryer version of the hat for those who like it that way.
For the three color version you will need just under 100 yds of the main color, and 60+ yards of the second and third colors. For the rain colored set I used Cascade 220, green 2429, blue 9323, and the varigated 9844. The 2-color version used one skein each of Cascade 220 and Plymouth Boku. Enough already is around 100 yds of the main color and around 60 yds of the contrast color.
