This piece is structured using the framework for a classic semicircle shawl that starts at the top with a few stitches and fans out by increasing a set number of times every few rows. 2 pieces are made (front and back) then sewn together, leaving openings for the arms and neck.

Blocking is necessary to achieve the final shape.
The pattern is 6 pages; 1.5 pages are written instruction the other pages are photos of the piece during construction & completed, schematic and the materials list.

This is a “one size” though because of the top down construction it is super simple to adjust for smaller or larger sizes and is noted in the pattern.

I would rate this for at least an advanced beginner knitter looking to move up to the next level.

UPDATE 10/18/2017
I’ve added a modification to this pattern as a 2nd pdf (the black poncho version). The 2nd version is worked in the round, top down as one piece and does not have the armholes.

I used the same yarn/needle combination and used 8 skeins for the S, 10 skeins for the M/L.

This version I would rate Easy.
Thanks!
