The Brewster House in Stony Brook was built in 1665 and is considered the oldest house on Long Island. It began as a one room cottage, was expanded into a saltbox, and was enlarged again during the Revolutionary War when it was a tavern for British troops. This beautiful shawl also builds from its center; starting as a circle, then becoming a square, a rectangle, and finally a triangle. Knit in two colors of our luscious fingering yarn, it is big and cozy to wrap up in, but still lightweight to wear.

This shawl is knit in garter stitch. Use two high-contrast colors as we have in the photos, or two that are closer in tone.
