My new ‘Breton’ Bag design was inspired by a holiday to Brittany in France. The crisp Breton stripes express classic Parisian style; clean and stylish in its graphic simplicity. Make your bag with in the traditional white and blue sailor-like stripes for a touch of Riviera Chic or go wild with different colour variations; either way will result in an aesthetically appealing bag.

Pattern is written in UK and US terms and includes explanations of all stitches and abbreviations. Guidance on adding lining and a magnetic clasp also included.

Drops Paris 100% cotton (Aran/Worsted/Yarn Weight #4) used in photos:

• Navy / 70g / 105m / 114.8 yds
• White / 50g / 75m / 82 yds

Hook: 4.5 mm (US size 7)

You will also need:

A yarn needle
Magnetic Bag Clasp (or other fastening)
Small squares of felt (optional)
Fat Quarter of cotton fabric for lining (optional)
Pins (optional)
Needle and thread; matching the cotton fabric for lining (optional)
