This double-layered beanie has a woolly outer layer and a buttery soft alpaca lining, giving it a really snug, cosy fit. Knitted in the round with two strands of yarn held together, it starts with a provisional cast on which allows it to be worked in one piece. The outer layer is worked one way, and the live stitches are then picked up so that the lining can be worked the other way, creating a sealed tube.

There are two sizes available. The first would fit a small-to-average female head, and the second would fit a large female or average male head. Both require less than one skein of each of the specified yarns.

My sample is knitted in a combo of the beautiful McIntosh Ffluff mixed with McIntosh BFL DK. The Ffluff is held double for the lining. A woolly DK and a supersoft, fluffy laceweight are the recommended yarns for this patterns, for the ultimate in cosiness and softness.
