The idea is to remember the warm and sunny days at the beach when those mittens keep your hands warm during cold winter months.
The mittens are worked in the round from the bottom to top using 5 double pointed needles, followed by knitting the thumb using 4 double pointed needles.
Begin with needles US 1.5 (2.5 mm) and knit the edge and the first 26 rounds of the chart. Then change to needles US 2 (2.75 mm) until you finish the chart.
