Thalassic Shawl
This pattern includes a second PDF version that is formatted for knitters with low vision. It has black text, size 22 or larger text in a sans serif font, no italics, no columns, and fully-written directions. The chart is still included but is not needed to work the pattern. Many thanks to Gemma Thompson (gemmabelle here on Rav) and the Accessible Patterns group for their guidance in formatting patterns in a more accessible way.
thalassic, adj. – of or relating to the sea
I live near the ocean and often design knits to keep me warm when the stiff afternoon breeze picks up off the water and blows onshore. This shawl is meant to be a lightweight but cozy layer for our winter days.
The shawl is an asymmetrical triangle growing outward from one corner. It features an all-over repeating pattern in simple lace that is engaging but still easily memorized.
