Ternate - means arranged in threes…
Cowls are so convenient to wear this season and having color around your face will certainly brighten your day. Knitted in the round with three different stitch patterns and in as many colors.
This cowl was knitted from just a single yarn cake, see yarn.
The pattern is written and charted for your knitting pleasure.
Size: Bottom circumference 26”, top circumference 21”, height 12”.
Yarn
Trio, a single yarn cake. Sport weight, in cotton/linen blend thick and thin yarn in a light fingering weight held double throughout. Each cake has 3 distinct colors in 70 yard portions per color, for a total of 210 yards per cake.

Notions needed
US size 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle 24”
(61 cm) in length
15 Stitch markers, including 1 different in color to mark beginning of round.
Darning needle or crochet hook for finishing.
Gauge
16 sts and 24 rows in 4” of Stockinette stitch. You may need to use a larger needle, as I am a loose knitter and you may not be.
Techniques used
Knitting and purling in the round, lace knitting, slipping stitches, color changes, binding off.
