Telstar
This blanket uses the mosaic crochet technique to crochet squaress where simple four pointed stars appear to float above their background. The squares are then joined together to make a blanket.
My blanket is made up of 42 squares and measures about 90 x 80 cm / 35 x 31”. It used less than 400g of Black DK weight yarn and about 10g in each of 21 rainbow colours.
Mosaic crochet is much simpler to work than it looks and changing between the colours and the black yarn every round helps you to see what you’re doing. Detailed instructions are given for each round of the square, including photos.
This pattern is a companion to my Starburst blanket which uses the same technique and colours but with a more detailed pattern. I designed Telstar to use up the left over little balls of colour from the earlier blanket.
All my ravelry patterns are free to download but, if you enjoy them, please consider making a donation to the British Liver Trust where the money will go to fund research and support the families of children with a liver disease. You can do this easily by going to my fundraising page here
