Tavila Sweater
I love knitting both bottom up and top down sweaters. In this scenario I used these two constructions for the same garment, thus I could enjoy both methods at the same time!
Tavila starts with a Provisional Cast-on at the lower part of the yoke and is worked bottom up toward the neckline. An elegant and easy-to-make cable pattern is added to the yoke, which makes the sweater even more attractive.
After the last decrease round in the yoke, some short rows are added across the back of the neck, to raise it higher than the front for the proper fit of the garment.
The live stitches are then picked up for the body and sleeves, and the sweater is worked top down.
Apart from the short rows at the neck, the whole sweater is worked seamlessly in the round.
The sweater is intended to be worn with approximately 7.5 cm / 3” positive ease at bust, however the sleeves are relatively skinny.
The pattern contains schematics, chart and written instructions, photo and video tutorials. It has been professionally tech edited and test knitted.
