Who says we can’t have style AND comfort?

Taproot is the sweater incarnation of my favorite chambray dress; it’s the piece to wear with tall boots and leggings on a crisp day.

Taproot is meant for layering, which makes it a versatile wardrobe staple for most of the year.

Note: Kenzie is not really a true worsted weight, so take care when making a substitute. Fabric should be light and have drape, not dense or stiff. Substitutions in light DK or very light worsted that result in a soft fabric with drape on the recommended needle (and to gauge, of course) are suggested.

With enough ease throughout the waist and hips for a comfortable, relaxed fit (and nicely fitted sleeves so it doesn’t come off as over-sized), a rounded neckline that allows for layering, and the most delicious embedded cable down one side, you’re never going to want to take this off.

• 1060 (1150, 1242, 1342, 1450, 1565, 1690, 1825, 1975) yards for full length - Kenzie by HiKoo from Skacel Knitting - 50% New Zealand Merino, 25% Nylon, 10% Angora, 10% Alpaca, 5% Silk Noils 160 yards per 50g skein
• US Size 6/4mm (32”- 47”) circular needle (body) or size to obtain gauge
• US Size 4/3.5mm (24-32”) circular needle (neckline) or two sizes smaller than needle used for body
• Size 6/4mm (12” or DPN) sleeve
• Use needle size necessary to obtain gauge.
• Darning needle to weave in ends
• Stitch markers, including locking markers
• Cable needle

Gauge
22 st and 30 rows over 4” in stockinette with larger needle.
