Tapestry Teacup & Saucer
by Susan Lowman
This teacup and saucer are worked in Tapestry Crochet. In Tapestry Crochet, the unused color is carried on top of the previous round, being encased by the stitches worked in the other color until it is needed again. Then you simply change colors as you normally do (in the last step of the sc when 2 loops are left on the hook) and carry the new unused color on top of the previous round until it is needed again. This makes the crochet work stiffer, which helps give this teacup it’s shape without stiffening it. If you are interested in Tapestry Crochet, the queen of this technique is Carol Ventura. Check out Carol’s website at www.tapestrycrochet.com and give Tapestry Crochet a try. You’ll be glad you did.
