Swooper
Swooper is the first pattern released from a collection of patterns in an ebook called Biaz Blitz Knits that I have published on Ravelry.
Biaz Blitz Knits is an ebook featuring 4 wrap patterns, each knit mostly in garter on the bias. The idea for the ebook began as I was designing “Swooper” the first scarf pattern in this collection. By the time I finished knitting the scarf, I knew there were more to come and Sailer, Ticker and Checker evolved. To give visual interest, I have added knit stitch variations like the elongated stitch in between garter bands which also help add length while keeping the width short and also shape the first 3 wraps. Checker is worked only in garter. None of the patterns use short rows or purling.
Swooper is knit mostly in garter stitch which is a favorite from beginner to advanced knitters. Rows of elongated knit stitches separate the garter bands worked on the bias to make it visually interesting.
I used just one skein of Zen Garden serenity 3 ply yarn which gives a wingspan of 57” - 145 cms and height of 12.5” - 31.75 cms.
The pattern is quick and easy and the repeats can be worked to give a scarf of a comfortable size. It is reversible also!
I have a small video clip for the elongated stitch.
Thank Rupi for test-knitting this scarf.
