Is leftover #3 light weight yarn just taking up space? What a great way to use up yarn stash! The little socks are knit from the toe up beginning with a Turkish Cast-On, and the tiny caps, to keep baby’s body heat from escaping, are knit top down. Each is knit in the round, so there are no irritating seams to irritate baby’s delicate skin. These preemie sets can be donated to neonatal units that allow newborns to wear them during their hospital stay, or give them to a special newborn in your life. Use very soft acrylic or cotton yarn that may be machine washed and dried. Wool and super wash wool is NOT recommended because preemies have such tender skin. The instructions are for micro (1-2 lbs) with the preemie (2-3 lbs) and large preemie (3-5 lbs) in parentheses.
