This shawl was inspired by the grace and elegance of Odette and the Swan-Maidens of the famous Ballet, Swan Lake. Act 3 is famous for the “32 fouettés en tournant”. Ballet-goers often count to see if actually 32 are done. The pattern is delicate yet dense, providing just enough warmth on cool evenings.

SHAPE: Bottom-up, triangular

NOTIONS: Stitch markers (Optional), tapestry needle for weaving ends.

PATTERN STYLE: The pattern contains written as well as chart instructions. There is a key and full abbreviation list included as well.

DIFFICULTY: Adventurous Beginner/Intermediate- The body of the pattern is simple enough to not require constant looking at the instructions, yet engaging enough to keep you interested.

YARN: This pattern is better suited for gradiant, solid or tonal yarn to show off the detail of the lace, although the subtle variegated yarn I used for the sample shows the pattern nicely.

NOTE: I used 410 yards in my sample, however, my testers used more yardage, but not all swatched. If you are a loose knitter, do not swatch to get guage, or wish to knit this using a larger needle then recommended, please account for more yardage than recommended.
