The pattern was designed for one 6oz skein of Jackrabbit that was dyed in a special colorway (it’s no longer available, but the black multi of the majority of the shawl is similar to my Star Date colorway).

It turned out so simple and straightforward that I decided to make the pattern available. One 170g/600yds skein makes a wrap that blocks to about 46” in diameter. The pattern adapts easily to different yarns and gauges as well, the pattern explains how.

Requires the lighter circular cast-on (or circular cast-on of preference); knitting in the round; ssk, yo, knowledge of crochet chains; and access to an accurate scale that weighs to the nearest gram. The scale is used once to determine when to begin the lace pattern.

Please note that the edge is slightly different in the photographs. The pattern has an improved edge.

I gave out a succinct version of this pattern at my vendor booth during the 2009 Garden State Sheep Breeders Sheep and Wool festival in Hunterdon County, NJ.
