INSPIRATION
The Sunrise Headband is a design that is similar to the Shikis Headband. I wanted to change up the design and add more detail. I have been enjoying working with fingering weight yarn and how much more detail comes through with colorwork. The Sunrise headband was designed for those that wake up to the sunrise every day. TraditionallyNavajos lived in homes called Hogans. These homes were one-room circular buildings with one door. The round hogan is symbolic of the sun and its door faces east so that the first thing that a Navajo family sees in the morning is the rising sun. The colors are associated with the red rocks that shift in the shade, east of my family’s home. The rock cliffs are my favorite view in the world.

• US 3 (3.25mm)(headband tube) Length of needles 9” DPNs or 9” circular for small circumference knitting in the round (I personally love 9” circular for colorwork)
• Stitch Markers

• Crochet Hook for Provisional CO

GAUGE
36 sts X 34 rounds = 4”x4” 10 cm in Charted Pattern after blocking using size US 3 (3.5 mm)
Take time to check gauge to save yourself from a headband that’s too tight or too loose.
