Gauge is not important in this pattern as it is only coasters and size fluctuation is fine. I have included the size of the finished coasters, hot pad, and earrings for a reference.
You need a small amount of clothesline or any cotton yarn or yarn of your choice that is weight 4. This pattern is very flexible though and you could use other weights to get a smaller or larger coaster. You could also use a smaller weight and hold multiple strands. This is a great stash buster so use what you’ve got!
For my original coasters, I found some clothesline in the garage and it worked perfectly.
