Sunny Side Up Mitered Shawl
This was the June MKAL. I have taken out the clues and it is now ready for purchase.
Join my group, you can join both if you want!
What do I need you may be asking……..
This is a full size shawl shape in a wide V, not a triangle , not a crescent, not a half circle but a wide V. This will make it an easy piece to wear, not falling off your shoulders. You will not even need a shawl pin to hold it on. But they are a beautiful accessory!
1380 yards of fingering weight yarn.
Size 4 (3.4mm) needles
markers optional
This is going to be a fun wrap that will incorporate a few Mitered Squares (domino knitting) in it but not the entire wrap.
Suggested Yarns:
Mitered Squares are very fun to knit with self stripe yarns.
For a summer shawl, I suggest a cotton, silk, bamboo blend.
Noro Sock Taiyo - it has 420 meters each so you will need 3 skeins.
Tofutsies Sock by SWTC - It has 420 meters each so you will need 3 of those. This is not a self stripe yarn. I made the demo in this and it is lovely with wonderful drape. But more of a semi solid color.
You could also use some wool blends with long stripes like,
Zauberball
Knit Picks Chroma
