Materials needed: 2 x 50g skeins of main colour yarn; 1 x 50g skein of each of two contrast colour yarns; 4mm straight knitting needles; tapestry needle; 1m of picture frame wire for hat brim.

Main section of hat is knitted bottom-up, then stitches are picked up from cast-on edge to knit brim top-down. Flower embellishment is made separately and sewn to hat.

From the magazine pattern pages:

All summer-smart girls carry a sunhat, and this charming, ’20s-inspired cloche design is just the ticket.

Decorate your sunhat with gorgeous flowers. Worked in stocking stitch, they’re the perfect size project for popping in your handbag - make some for your friends, too!

Tension is not important for this project. One size fits all.
