A subtly textured yoke, lace along the side “seams,” and a shaped hem transform a basic tee silhouette into a unique top. You’ll be able to wear the SunbirdTop through spring and even into summer, thanks to its lightweight silk-and-wool yarn.

Tee is worked from a provisional CO (bodice bottom up and the body top down). The bodice first working the front and back separately and then joined with a 3-Needle BO. The body is worked in the round top down from the provisional CO. The sleeves are worked top down in the round, using short rows to form the sleeve cap.

Yarn Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool (45% wool, 35% silk, 20% nylon; 192 yd 175 m/13⁄4 oz 50 g): #163 Milano red, 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7) balls

Needles Size 5 (3.75 mm): 32–40” circular (cir), depend- ing on size you are making, and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 6 (4 mm): 16” cir. Adjust needle size if neces- sary to obtain the correct gauge

Notions Markers (m); waste yarn for provisional CO; stitch holders; tapestry needle
