Sumu is the Finnish word for fog, like the subtle color of the soft and lightweight yarn I chose for this flattering sweater. It is worked seamlessly from the back over the shoulder down to the hem.

The batwing-like sleeves, which allow for generous ease in the bust area, converge beautifully towards the hips.
The textured square pattern and the v-neck give Sumu a sportive touch.

This classic sweater will soon become a favorite as it can be worn every day, and you are dressed up with no effort.

SIZES
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) with finished circumference around bust 110 (120, 130, 140, 150, 160) cm/ 43¼“ (47¼”, 51¼“, 55”, 58”, 63”)
and around hips 78 (88, 98, 108, 118, 128) cm/ 30¾” (34¾“, 38½, 42½”, 46½“, 50½”).

Sample is shown in size L in colorway Nebelschwaden.

I recommend choosing a size you feel comfortable with. You may omit some of the decreases along the side seams to adapt the hip width to your needs, but this will increase yardage needed.

YARDAGE
Approx. 1050 (1200, 1350, 1500, 1700, 1900) meters/ 1155 (1320, 1650, 1870, 2090) yards Zauberwiese Merino 530 or any light fingering or heavy lace weight yarn to obtain given gauge

Everybody knits differently, so given yardage is an estimate.

GAUGE
28 sts x 38 rows per 10 cm/ 4“ in stockinette stitch with needle 3.00 mm/US2½ after washing and smoothing out

Take time to check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.
