What’s this: This is the Summer Cowl. It is a Tunisian crochet pattern.

Why should I make this: No! I am not crazy! Summer is a cotton cowl perfect to keep your shoulder’s warm under the office a/c, without sweating to death when you go outside.

The cowl is worked in Tunisian crochet, with Billow by KnitPicks, a thick and thin 100% cotton yarn that is super soft and comes in awesome colours =)

When will this get the most use: Whenever you need some warmth, but not overly so.

Who is it for: With the right choice of colours, this cowl can be for anyone on your list!

Where do I start: This pattern is rated Advanced - You’ll need to know (or be eager to learn) Tunisian crochet stitches and principles (the pattern explains these in simple terms). You will need 100g of Bulky weight yarn in each of 2 colours (used here: Billow by Knitpicks) & a 7mm interchangeable Tunisian hook with cord. Other notions: a yarn needle, and some stitch markers.

Pourquoi je l’aime tant? Non! Je ne suis pas folle! Summer est un col d’été en cotton, parfait pour ne pas avoir froid sous la climatisation du bureau, sans tomber dans les pommes une fois dehors!

Je commence où? Modèle Avancé – Vous devez être confortable avec les mailles de base au crochet tunisien (ou avoir envie de les apprendre). Le patron explique cette technique de façon simple et claire. Vous aurez aussi besoin de 100g de laine de poids Bulky dans chacune de 2 couleurs (ici, Billow par Knitpicks) & d’un crochet tunisien 7mm interchangeable avec cordon. Vous aurez aussi besoin d’une aiguille à laine et de marque-points.
