The Sugar Loaf Sweater set came about when I wanted a baby sweater that was clean and modern looking - something that would be perfect for today’s modern and urban kid. It was also important that it be easy to work by an adventurous beginning knitter. But of course it couldn’t be boring to make. Because where is the fun in that? I think that Sugar Loaf delivers on all counts! With two colors and textured stripes, the hat and cardi can be anything from bold and bright to traditionally subdued.

As always, Woolyn patterns are named after long gone NYC street and place names. Sugar Loaf Street was once in Tribecca where Franklin Street is now. There is even a Sugar Loaf Building commemorating the old name.
