This striking fringed poncho is stylish and versatile. It can be worn with the neckline straight across and the point at the bottom, or wear it with the center of the neck moved to a shoulder, which results in a flat bottom and v-neckline. The textured stripes are horizontal when worn with the point at the bottom; vertical when the neck is in v-position. The yarn creates the look of actual suede, so the fringe adds a natural charm.

If desired, several different colors of the yarn could be alternated to accentuate the striping. This would, of course, require more yarn so as not to run out in the middle of a striped section.

The crochet hook is used only to attach the fringes. The larger needle size is only used for casting on stitches at the neckline; however, this could also be accomplished if the stitches are cast on very loosely with the main needle size.

This easy to follow pattern is color coded to remind the knitter they are on a garter stitch or stockinette stitch section while the fabulous textured fabric flies off their needles! The poncho is worked from the bottom point of the backside, increasing in size up to open the neckline, then decreasing in size as it is worked down to the point at the bottom of the front. No seams!
