This multi-pattern ★ offers an array of possible socks, customisable depending on the wearer’s anatomy and needs.

Choose between several looks and styles which can be used with two versions of the new and innovative STYX heel:

The main idea of the STYX heel is to provide a shape that fits better, by changing the standard short row method into something that can be customised for various heel types.
This is done by treating sections of the heel differently: By working the two halves in different ratios, one creates a curved line along the usual “seam” which forms a more anatomical shape, hugging the heel better than traditional short rows do.

For a more flattering fit on various shapes and width of feet, the pattern offers two heel constructions to choose from: The Styx classic and the Styx high arches heel (found in a separate PDF of this multi-pattern).
Both are quickly interchangeable for all sizes in this pattern.

Here a toe up construction with a gusset is used: This method provides a good fit and the ability to check the length of the sock quickly and easily during knitting.
It also presents the advantage of using up different bits of yarn; just weigh them first and halve the amount to use in each sock!

All variants also offer the possibility to choose between two options in relation to colour choices on toe, heel and cuff and each option is described in detail in the instructions.

Included (in PDF A) are two stripe options as well as a color block sequence for working your socks.

The option for a cute, asymmetrical cuff is given (in the lace motif option of PDF B) which is worked with short rows that are finished with a decorative crochet bind off, adding a whimsical little bow to the side of each sock.

Different photo-tutorials are included, which explain some new way to work symmetric decreases at the heel and the special bind-off found in PDF B.

A big Grazie to Michela LaMicky for translating this pattern into Italian!
Et un grand merci à Patricia patamodeler pour la traduction en Français!

This is a multi-pattern, in which you get:
• 2 separate PDFs with different textures and cuff options, both with Styx Heel Classic:

PDF A for the St st version and
PDF B for the Broderie Anglaise Lace stitch (or any other motif with an 8 st repeat) and an asymmetric cuff design.

• 1 separate PDF to exchange for Styx heel high arches, if needed (check definition below).

• 1 separate PDF with the Quick Map+ that showcases various combinations that can be worked using this multi-pattern: It
is advised to consult this map first, before starting.

Definition High Arches:
Usually the foot has three types of arches: normal, flat, high. Most shoes and socks are made for normal arches (the classic heel that can already be found on p.5 of this PDF will cater to both flat and normal arches).

If you find your sock generally feels tight around the area that goes from the heel and across your foot just below the ankle, and you often have difficulties passing the sock over your heel when you put it on, that probably comes from having high arches and/or high insteps.
In this case it is advised to use the extra PDF “Styx heel high arches” and to simply switch that page in place of the classic heel found in this PDF.
