This is a cute little hat that will fit for about six months. You can use up your remnants or knit it with as little as two colors only. Or all in one color!

The hat can be knitted in the round or in rows.
Both ways have their pros and cons.

If you don’t like to seam….make it in the round, but then you also have to purl
If you don’t like to purl….make it in rows, but then you also have to seam it. And seaming garter stitch is very easy! Picture included.

Materials: SPORT Weight Yarn 120 y all together. Yarn used here: Rowan Cotton Glace (125yards /50 grams) 100% Cotton. Main color: white, 8 contrasting colors for stripes
For in rows: Straight or 24” circular knitting needle size US 3 (3.25 mm) and US 4 (3.5 mm) or size to achieve gauge, tapestry needle, 3 stitch markers
For in the round: 12”circular needles US 3, 12” circular needles US 4, 12” and double pointed needles in US 4, four stitch markers
