This very stretchy ruffled sunhat is lightweight for crisp cool spring or autumn days and nights. It uses the Garter stitch throughout - first in rows for the body of the hat and then in rounds for the ruffle.

This is a great project for using up a growing pile of stash yarn!

For this project, I used Caron Simply Soft 100% acrylic yarn for its softness and elasticity.

If you are not a crocheter (and for the most part, I am NOT), you can embellish the hat instead with a flower or bow barrette purchased from a craft store.
