A sleek fingerless mitt featuring all-over twisted ribbing and a central cable panel reminiscent of little owls, peeking out through the trees. Strigidae is the proper name for an order of owls across North America. The wee saw-whet owl is my favourite.

• 2.5mm/ US#1.5 needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Waste yarn or small stitch holder, stitch markers (if desired), tapestry needle

GAUGE
• 8 stitches/10 rounds in 1 inch/2.5 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking
12 stitches/10 rounds in 1 inch/2.5 cm in Twisted Rib (relaxed) after blocking
