“She could still hear the voices, laughter and music through the bar’s closing door. Stepping outside, she was thinking about her friends and the nice evening they had spent together. The wet street in front of her reflected the lights of the city, the air had that typical after-the-rain smell. Her stylish cowl protected her from the chill of the night. The graphic black and white lines reminded her of the streets of her city. With a smile on her lips and a light feeling in her heart, she headed home, looking forward to knitting a few rows before going to sleep.”

It’s all about stripes! Horizontal and vertical stripes alternate rhythmically. Ruffles produced by excessive fabric between the slip stitch areas are a fancy detail with a twist. Due to the tapered cut, the fit of the cowl is very comfortable and shows the design at its best.

The cowl is knitted seamlessly bottom up in rounds – starting with k1/p1 corrugated ribbing. A simple stripe pattern is interrupted with slip stitch areas that form vertical stripes. A few decrease rounds are distributed evenly throughout the body of the cowl to narrow the circumference around the neck. The cowl is finished with more corrugated ribbing.
