Storybook Capelet in Shells
I love this pattern! It has taken me months to finally get it right and it is such a lovely piece when worn! I can’t think of an outfit it wouldn’t go with, dress it up, dress it down, you will feel like you just stepped out of a Jane Austin novel!
There are a lot of photos and notes in the pattern to help you correctly follow the pattern and select the size that is best but here is a materials list to get you started.
Materials
A thin worsted weight yarn (I used Sheep(ish) in Plum(ish). A lot of my testers used Caron Simply Soft)
Toddler – 18mo to 3T / 835 yrds
Child – 4T to child size 6 / 1002 yrds
Teen – child size 8 to small juniors sizes / 1169 yrds
Women – larger junior sizes to women’s sizes / 1336 yrds
Plus size – larger women’s sizes to plus size / 1670 yrds
Contrasting color worsted weight yarn for drawstring.
I hook (5.5 mm)
Yarn needle
Measuring tape
Stitch markers (optional but helpful)
Fabric glue (optional but helpful)
