Stevens
Circle sweaters flatter all body types, and Stevens is no exception. This circle vest begins in the center with a shawl cast-on, which grows into a large flower medallion. Its edge features a reversible cable so there is no wrong side when the collar is folded over.
FINISHED SIZE
Back Width: About 163/4 (171/4, 18, 181/4, 19, 193/4)” (42.5 44, 45.5, 46.5, 48.5, 50 cm). Vest shown measures 163/4” (42.5 cm).
YARN
Worsted weight (#4 Medium).
Shown here: Swans Island Natural Colors Merino Worsted (100% merino; 250 yd 229 m/100 g): vintage lilac, 7 (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) skeins.
NEEDLES
Size U.S. 8 (5 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn) and 24” (60 cm), 40” (100 cm), and 60” (150 cm) circulars (cir).
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS
Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
GAUGE
22 sts and 24 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in St st. 22 sts = 31/4” (8.5 cm) in Cable chart.
ERRATA
Without these additional rows the cables in the center most ring will never be worked…
