Stepstone Shawl is an asymmetrical garter stitch shawl in 3 colors with a satisfying slip stitch/garter stripe edging. The pattern stitch for the edging was originally created for the Stepstone Cowl, and was adapted to be worked flat and on the bias for this project. This makes for far less purling! if you love shawls but don’t love purling, this is the Stepstone pattern for you.

Includes: complete written instructions for 2 sizes of shawl (2 edging width options), edging pattern is both fully written and charted, plus guidelines to make any size with any gauge.

Yarn: Sport weight yarn in 3 colors. Shown in: Cascade “Heritage 150 sock yarn” (150g./5.25 oz, 492yds/450m). 200g. (656yds/599m) of color A (5629 - Citron) 50g. (164yds/149m) each of color B (5719 – Violet Indigo) and color C (5704 – Dusty Turquoise).
