St. Mungo’s is a homelessness charity, and 2012 sees the third year that they are running a fundraiser called Woolly Hat Day on October 26th. They are looking for knitting enthusiasts to help knit 4,672 orange bobble hats to be used to create a stunt to launch this year’s campaign. Each bobble hat represents a homeless person sleeping rough at the moment.
This pattern gives gauge, needle size and full instructions for DK, Aran and Chunky yarn, knitted straight or on circular needles. The pattern is completely free from copyright, on ONE CONDITION ONLY - you must knit at least one bright orange wooly hat and send it to St. Mungo’s before using the pattern in any other way!
