This simple A-line skirt is designed to be a versatile transitional piece. The decorative bands or “beads” of color are worked in an easy to execute slip stitch pattern - only one color is worked at a time making for no-fuss color work.

Needles
Circular knitting needle (24” and 32” for sizes XS and S; 32” for rem sizes) in size US 4 (3.5 mm)
Circular knitting needle (24” and 32” for sizes XS and S; 32” for rem sizes) in size US 5 (3.75 mm) or size to obtain gauge.
Other Materials
Nine stitch markers (including 1 contrasting marker)
2” wide elastic – 26” to 46” (depending on waist size)
Bodkin or safety pin (to thread elastic through casing)
Sewing needle and thread
Gauge
20 sts and 27 rnds = 4” in St st, blocked, using larger needle. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
Notes

This skirt is worked in the round, from the hem to the waistband.

Skirt can be worn with the beginning of the round falling at the back or on the side.

To lengthen or shorten skirt, add or subtract rounds worked between the first decrease rounds. Use your gauge (rounds per inch) to determine how many rounds you wish to add or subtract. If you lengthen the skirt you may require additional yarn.
