Square Neck Sweater
This square neck design does best as a light weight warm weather sweater with its open neck and relaxed fit.
in order to knit this sweater, you need to know how to knit and purl, yarn-over, decrease, and provisional cast-on, backward loop method.
It is worked top down, always handy when you have a limited stash of yarn for a project. But it’s also good for deciding how long you want the sweater once you see how it looks on you.
Since the neckline is divided into quarters for the raglan increases, there are as many stitches for each sleeve as there are for the front and the back. So these sleeve stitches are drastically decreased at the armpit in a kind of half gusset.
It might also be worn off the shoulder if you like, as the neck opening is generous. In fact some cotton blend yarns might stretch out with wear and become off-the-shoulder whether you like it or not unless you reinforce such low memory yarns with elastic thread.
