The colorway of Malabrigo’s Arroyo reminded me of a walk in the woods after it’s rained. Though I had never designed (or even been drawn to) variegated yarn before, this soft, gorgeous wool changed my mind instantly. I also had my doubts about kimono sleeves, concerned that (whatever my design) too much material under the arms might create an unflattering “flying squirrel” effect. But the beautiful drape of the knitted Malabrigo quickly helped me put my concerns to rest, and keeping the neckline low provided a flattering counterpoint to the fullness of the sleeves.
