These lovely socks can be made with contrast stripes or single colour.

Both versions use two 50g balls of Drops Nord but any 100g of 4ply sock yarn will work with this pattern.

The striped pair are made with the Deep Ocean Mix colourway, they use approximately 60g of main colour and 40g of contrast colour on 2.25mm needles (I used a random skein of 4ply sock yarn for the contrast colour).

Alternatively the single colour version uses two 50g balls of Drops Nord in the Fog colourway.

Drops Nord is a thick 4ply yarn - it comes up as 4ply/fingering weight on the Garnstudio website but Sport/5ply on Ravelry so I suspect it is somewhere in between.

The combination of the slightly thicker weight and the 45% alpaca makes these sock work up extra warm and perfect for winter welly wearing.

The pattern is written for the magic loop sock knitting method and has instructions for a heel flap and gusset and standard toe.

The Spring Socks are worked cuff down over 60 stitches and will fit an average adult female foot (foot length is adjustable). The pattern is written for the two colour version, simply ignore the colour change instructions to made a solid colour pair of socks.

The pattern has been tech edited and tested.

Note that this pattern has had a name change (Dec 2022).
