Spreading Joy
The doilies in this pattern are quite common, and the basic patterns are the same in books from all over Europe. I’ve included some small images from a Russian book I found online. I think because they are so widespread, these doily designs are a kind of universal European folk art.
I used US size 2 needles. Gauge will differ based on the needle size you choose. Try different needle materials too. I suggest bamboo or carbon fiber for knitting with linen. Your first one or too doilies may be just for practice but the yarn is strong and you can easily frog them and use the yarn again.
