I love fingerless gloves & I love football and science fiction - especially Star Trek. When I was planning to attend a Trek convention I decided I needed some new gloves and the idea for this pattern was born.

You can make almost unlimited variations with this pattern - you can make gloves with or without the separate half-fingers. And if you use your favorite sports team colors or your favorite sci-fi series uniform colors you’ll have a pair of gloves that folks will “recognize”, but no one else will have. (The 2nd picture shows a pair in orange, yellow & red with a little firefly charm - my nod to another favorite sci-fi show.) :-)

The pattern uses foundation double crochet, double crochet post stitches, extended single crochet as well as regular single crochet and slip stitches. The length of the cuff is easily adjusted as is the length of the gloves and/or fingers.

Specific instructions are included to add one or two gold accent stripes to denote ‘rank’ if you make your glove Trek-inspired. Beyond that, you can customize your gloves with wide stripes in sports team colors, or make the gloves in a solid color – it’s up to you!
