Spiraling Out of Control
I designed this hat after I knit my husband a basic brioche hat. He liked how the decreases made the stitches spiral at the top. He asked if I would be able to get the stitches to spiral on the whole hat. The next day I came up with the Spiraling Out of Control hat.
This pattern is a great stepping stone for new brioche knitters and a quick knit for seasoned brioche knitters.
You will need US size 7 16” circulars and US size 7 dpns or a 40” cable for magic loop.
2 colors of worsted weight yarn
MC approx 100 yards
CC approx 80 yards
Note: if you block this hat it will create a looser and slouchier version if that is desired. The photos show an unblocked hat which is how my husband wears it.
