This loop scarf is the second in my series of explorations of lace + texture. This time the two sides of the pattern are different, but I think each is pleasing in its own way: the right side combines a rib and welt stair step pattern with a strong diagonal line of eyelets, while the wrong side shows a series of offset rib segments with the eyelets less prominent on a reverse stockinette ground.

This design can be adapted for any weight of yarn, and the pattern repeat is small enough that it’s easy to customize the finished size. For the pattern samples I wanted to see how far I could get with a single 100g skein of luxury yarn in two different weights, worsted and fingering. You can follow the instructions exactly to reproduce the samples, or vary the yarn, fabric, and sizing to suit yourself - I look forward to seeing other interpretations of the pattern!

Pattern instructions are both charted and written. Skills needed for this easy textured lace include the following: casting on, binding off; working in the round; knit, purl, knit two together, and yarn over.
