Spiral Shawl
by Donna Childs
As engaging to style as it is to crochet, Childs’s spiral shawl is worked in wedges formed by single, half-double and double crochet stitches. The sawtooth edge is shaped with short rows that are offset at the beginning of the row by chain-stitch extensions; the technique creates the narrow crescent shape. A narrow single-crochet band reinforces the top edge. Silk Garden Lite colorway #2093 adds drama with bright flashes of turquoise, pink and orange against dark gray.
