For the modern kid, this adorable and colorful cardigan incorporates both texture and vibrant colorwork in a single, mixed-media garment. For knitters, it offers an opportunity to perfect a variety of skills in a single project. Stranded colorwork border is worked in the round in one piece, then steeked. Body stitches are picked up along the top edge of the border and worked back and forth in one piece to the armholes in a 6-st lace pattern repeat. Solid sleeves are worked in stockinette from the shoulders. Ribbed button bands and neckband are picked up along the front and neck edges. This delightful sweater is knit in Valley Superwash DK, which is ideally suited to children’s projects.
