Speakeasy Earwarmer
She was a flapper, a glamorous lady of the silent silver screen. It was rumored she dated Rudolph Valentino, Ramon Novarro, and Gentleman Jack Diamond. She never let prohibition stop her, and spent her evenings dancing and deep in conversation in the better speakeasies of New York and Los Angeles. She was rarely seen without her signature diamond bracelet and wearing her deep red lipstick. Some say she was a spy during the second world war, but she maintained that she was just traveling for pleasure. After the war she married a British Lord, and retired to a quiet and reclusive life in the English countryside where she died of old age many years later, a very old woman with an enigmatic smile. “You just knew she had stories she could tell…” said those in the village that saw her in the shops, or at the annual holiday WI fundraiser to which she always donated generously. It’s said that on dark starlit nights you can still hear the Black Bottom and the Charleston playing faintly from a scratchy gramophone, drifting across the moor from the windows of the manor where she lived.
Who was she? I’ll never tell. But maybe there is a little of her in you? Stay warm and add some of her spirit and glamour to your winter days with this earwarmer. The size is completely adjustable to your desired tightness (or looseness) and it is wide enough to keep you toasty warm.
