This summer we got a puppy, so we didn’t go on a family vacation. We did make lots of trips to our local beach. As we make that 20-30 minute drive, we would pass by Fripp Island, which is littered with pastel colored vacation houses. This blanket was a to memorialize this years stay-cation with it’s sunny beach days and brightly colored houses.

While this blanket it an invitation to memorialize the colors of your summer vacation, you can use any color combinations you wish. I recommend using 6 to 8 colors, that way you have enough possible combinations to spread color evenly through out the blanket, without it being overwhelming. I choose all bright colors to work with, however this would be equally lovely in neutrals with pops of color. Example would be 3-4 different shades of grey with white, bright green and bright blue accents.

With the pattern you get more than 15 pages of detailed instruction, schematics, flow chart on how to put each section together, color charts and stitch charts where needed. You also get a coloring sheet, to help you plan how the color layout of your blanket.

One motif measures 12” in DK weight yarn or 15” in Worsted weight yarn. Directions for working with DK and Worsted weight are included.

I made sure to make adjust the border so that it can be made in any even number of stitches, so if you want to make this blanket bigger you can still use my border if you wish.

Once you get use to the color changes and get the pattern down, each large circle takes about 2-3 hours to make.
