SouthEnd Beanie
This beanie is a thoughtful play with fiber, texture and color. Combining Hand Dyed Diva Homegrown Sock fingering weight yarn with mohair, the color combination possibilities are endless. The addition of mohair makes this beanie super soft, with lost and found stitches that fade in and out of the squares. While it looks like traditional fair isle, it is not. You will hold main color and mohair together then main color only, with mohair floats along the backside of the work. The mohair creates a shadow affect as it sneaks through and makes an amazing color story. Keep this in mind as you choose your color combinations.
SouthEnd Beanie is knit in the round on circulars and you will need double points as you reach the decreases at the top.
There are 4 sizes available for this beanie pattern. The Small Adult/Teen 18” fits most adult heads. It should fit like a glove. The Adult large gives a bit more room if that is your style. But wear it any way you like, it looks pretty cool either way.
One 400 yard skein of sock weight yarn and one skein of mohair is all you need. You should be able to make 3 different size hats.
